HIV/AIDS Information and Prevention Programme (HIPP)

 

 

 

Raises awareness on especially HIV/AIDS and other health related issues such as sexuality, reproductive health and family planning, hygiene, nutrition and  community based support among the leadership and the organizations of disabled people.

Two young delegates - one man one woman - from each SAFOD member country attended the “Disabled Youth Fighting HIV and AIDS” workshop in Swaziland  in September, 2003.

Disabled Youth fighting HIV and AIDS

At the SAFOD workshop in September 2003 in Swaziland young disabled people came up with recommendations to fight HIV and Aids:

- SAFOD to declare work on HIV and Aids an urgent need;

- Implement HIV and AIDS fight in all programmes;

- Take measures to prevent disabled children hidden and sexually abused;

- Make research as a proof for young people with disabilities could change attitudes;

- Build DPO network youth organisations;

- Work on concrete case of HIV and AIDS in their country;

- Develop national HIV and AIDS policies.
