Grants and Expenditure Transparency and accountability are key issues of SAFOD‘s development work. SAFOD accounts are audited every year by he international auditors of Ernest &Young. “The financial statements give a true and fair view of the financial position of the organisation”, says E&Y.
During the year 2005, SAFOD received US$220000-00 from its donor partners for its development programmes. FFO remained the major funder, contributing 66%. Healthlink came second with 13% and the other funders , African Secretariat , DPI ,TROCARE , UNIFEM ,CIDA , ADD , PAFOD , Leonard Chishire International , JLC ,and EDD, contributing the rest. In the same year , only 14% was spent on Administration , 47% went into the Youth activities , Women’s issues 11% ,Poverty Alleviation Strategy 1% , Disability Dialogue 7% ,Capacity Building 10% and African Decade Programme spending 10%. Published 24 August, 2006
